Bio

Pablo Popovitch became involved in BJJ as a precocious 4-year-old. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Popovitch began instruction at Barra Gracie School, where his teachers were the Machado brothers, Rigan, Carlos and Jean Jaques. Around that same age he started doing modeling and playing guitar.
“I knew early on that I wanted to be the best,” Popovitch said. “I had my first tournament when I was 8. I defeated Carlinhos Gracie (Reyson Gracie’s Son) in the finals. He and I were really good friends, but we were very competitive on the mats. At the same time I always loved music and I have been playing guitar since I can remember. Modeling was my mom’s doing, I never liked it that much but there was always work”

Pablo Popovitch went on to become one of the best grapplers of all times, voted in 2010 as ” The Best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competitor of The Year”. He is currently working on his music career, writing and recording original songs and still modeling for fitness and sports magazines. He is also the Head BJJ instructor at his Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
